Twenty-seven people arrested at illegal karaoke in Pattaya for violation of Covid19 measures
Pattaya city police raided a karaoke parlour in South Pattaya yesterday morning, arresting 27 people for allegedly violating the current disease control order to control the spread of Covid-19.
The 1:00 am raid on a karaoke parlour in Soi South Pattaya 4 was led by Lieutenant Colonel Chainarong Chiain of Pattaya City Police.
Twenty-seven people were arrested, including the karaoke facilitator. According to the police, the group drank alcohol, did not take social distance or wear face masks, and no illegal drugs were found.
The raid followed police receiving complaints from local residents in the area that people were gathering and drinking alcohol during a mandatory Covid-19 curfew from 10 pm. until 4 a.m. In addition, entertainment venues in Thailand have been legally closed for the past six months due to Covid-19 rules.
All 27 people were taken to the Pattaya City Police Station to be charged with violating the county’s disease control order.
