Provincial Communicable Diseases Commission has issued an order to shut down two villages in Khu Muang district for 14 days after eight people contracted Covid19, Governor Tatchakorn Hatthathayakul reported yesterday after an urgent meeting of the committee.
The two villages are Ban Sao-e, Moo 2 and Ban Nong Phai, Moo 12, in tambon Hin Lek Fai, where fiestas were held between April 16 and April 18 attended by people from outside the villages, resulting in eight people, both adults and children who become infected.
The two villages together have about 1,000 inhabitants, the lockdown came into effect on May 2 at 6 p.m.
During the lockdown, it is forbidden to enter and leave the two villages. Violators can receive a prison sentence of up to one year and/or a fine of no more than 100,000 baht under Section 52 of the Communicable Diseases Act 2015.
