A 1985 game cartridge of Super Mario Bros. was sold for a record amount of 2 million dollars (more than 1.7 million euros). That reports The New York Times.
STILL IN THE PACKAGE
According to the sales platform Rally, on which the game was sold, the game was in excellent condition and the packaging had never even been opened. The person who bought the game for the huge amount preferred to remain anonymous.
The sales platform previously purchased the game itself for an amount of $ 140,000. Earlier, Rally rejected an offer of $300,000, only to receive an offer of $2 million. That immediately means a record amount of money for a video game. The previous record was only a month old. Then a Super Mario 64 video game sold at auction for $1.56 million.
