On January 20, 41-year-old Uzbek citizen Shoira Rakmonova was detained by customs and immigration police officers at Phuket International Airport in Thailand. The woman was trying to bring cocaine into Thailand, which was hidden in a hidden pocket of her laptop bag.

The cocaine (white powder) was contained in eight plastic bags with a total weight of 2.23 kilograms. Also during the search, three cell phones were seized from the detainee.

Rakmonova was arrested and taken to the Saku police station for further questioning and prosecution in accordance with the law. The investigation revealed that the Uzbek national had arrived in Thailand on a direct flight from Doha Airport in Qatar.

After landing, she was searched as part of a random check of passengers arriving from abroad for prohibited substances. It is known that the day before, Phuket airport security officials received information about the possible arrival of suspected drug smugglers in the region, so a search was conducted for passengers with suspicious behavior.

At the moment, Rakmonova is charged with importing into Thailand drugs of the second category (cocaine).
