A young woman was narrowly rescued from drowning on Pattaya Beach yesterday afternoon. The volunteer rescue service was notified of the incident at 5:00 PM, she and a local reporter, found the injured 22-year-old Nopparat Petchjantuek on the beach.
She had already been taken out of the water by Pattaya Beach lifeguards, who also provided first aid at the scene. She was rushed to a local hospital for a check-up, although she was conscious, but was very shaken by the incident.
Nopparat told emergency services: “I went into the water on my own to swim before my leg got a cramp and I couldn’t swim back to shore. I yelled and waved my hands at the nearby orange lifeguards for help who rushed into the water and rescued me.”
