The deadline for applying for a 60-day Covid visa extension expires on July 29, allowing a stay until the end of September.
The extension is aimed at foreigners who are unable to leave Thailand and return to their home country due to the ongoing Covid-19 situation.
The application deadline has been extended several times by immigration. The deadline was May 29. The 60-day visa extension program was introduced late last year to allow foreigners to reside in Thailand due to the global Covid-19 situation and limited international flights.
The extension can be granted if:
- A foreigner cannot return to his home country because of the Covid-19 pandemic.
- If no return flights are available.
- When the stranger shows a letter from his embassy asking for another stay.
